How Do I Receive Veteran's Benefits? |
You and your family may be entitled to several benefits ranging from educational benefits, medical benefits, and death benefits for your survivors. To receive these benefits you must be honorably discharged and have your discharge papers (usually form DD214). Other documents such as a Marriage License, Birth Certificates of children and of course the Funeral and Cemetery Bill will be helpful. These additional documents will help in obtain cemetery space for your spouse or any other minor children that may be authorized at the time of your death.
Be aware that Veterans Benefits must be applied for, they are not paid automatically.

Have you ever said “It doesn't matter to me!”
“When I die, just find the cheapest casket and bury me!”
That is senseless, thoughtless and very self centered, and it's NOT going to happen!
When someone responds that way, they have not thought about their spouse, they are only thinking about their own death. Of course you don't care because your not here. However, if your beloved wife or husband passes away you most certainly will provide for a respectful funeral. Why?
